Nori and sesame popcorn

Move over butter, sesame and nori are here to raise the popcorn stakes.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup popcorn kernels 
  • 2-3 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 nori sheets, toasted and crushed
  • Toasted sesame seeds, to serve
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place a medium pot over medium-high heat and add sesame oil and popcorn. Place a lid on and cook, shaking occasionally, until all kernels have popped. Be careful not to burn.
  2. Pour popcorn into a large bowl and toss with crushed nori, sesame seeds and salt.

Oven temperatures are for conventional; if using fan-forced (convection), reduce the temperature by 20˚C. | We use Australian tablespoons and cups: 1 teaspoon equals 5 ml; 1 tablespoon equals 20 ml; 1 cup equals 250 ml. | All herbs are fresh (unless specified) and cups are lightly packed. | All vegetables are medium size and peeled, unless specified. | All eggs are 55-60 g, unless specified.
