Reality show experience? Tick. Hit songwriters? Tick. Teenage fanbase? Tick. Bulgaria have covered all bases this year.

Watch out Isaiah, here’s another 17-year-old who shot to fame on a version of The X Factor. Bulgaria’s return to the competition last year after a brief absence resulted in their best ever placing in the competition, and already there’s much noise about both teen sensation Kristian Kostov and his haunting ballad, “Beautiful Mess”.

“Beautiful Mess” is all shades of Shawn Mendes, which will prove to be both accessible and appealing to many of the younger viewers, and should help Kostov on the scoreboard.

The team behind “Beautiful Mess” certainly know what they’re doing, having produced pieces for the likes of Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend. This beautiful mess will probably prove to be a beautiful success for Bulgaria.
