A former Serbian paramilitary commander extradited to Croatia from Australia has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars for war crimes committed in the 1990s. The court found Dragan Vasiljkovic guilty of killing and torturing soldiers and civilians during Croatia's independence war from 1991 to 1995. The decision makes him the first Australian citizen to be convicted of war crimes.
