Government humiliated by loss of control of House floor
Opposition Leader Bill Shorten savours the moment Source: AAP
Coalition MPs have apologised following an embarrassing setback on the floor of the House of Representatives in which Labor took control of the floor for two hours. The Opposition was exploiting the Government's slim majority after some Government MPs left the House early. The Opposition won three votes before panicked Coalition MPs managed to scramble back. It is the first time in decades that a majority government has lost a vote in the lower house.
