Senate uncertainty deepens after likely second High Court referral

One Nation senator Rod Culleton is expected to face a High Court challenge to his eligibility to run for parliament. Mr Culleton is facing the referral because a now-annulled larceny conviction was still current at the time of the federal election. He is the second crossbench senator referred to the High Court this week: Family First Senator Bob Day was referred amid concerns he may have breached the constitution.
