Terrorism deaths down, but attacks spreading: Global Terrorism Index

The total number of global deaths from terrorism has declined for the second year in a row. The Global Terrorism Index (GTI), compiled by an Australian research body, indicates there's been 22 per cent fewer recorded deaths from terrorism since the peak of activity in 2014. But attacks are spreading into an increasing number of countries.
