Thousands of displaced residents are returning to the northern Syrian city of Manbij after it was recaptured from self-proclaimed Islamic State by Kurdish and Arab fighters back by the United States. The city had been the main transit point for I-S from its de facto capital city, Raqqa, through to Europe. It's thought the city will now be used as a crucial staging point for an attack on Raqqa in the coming months. But there are questions over the stability of the region if and when IS is defeated.
