What are the Commonwealth Games?

Thousands of athletes, officials and spectators from more than 70 Commonwealth nations and territories are set to descend on the Gold Coast for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The 12-day event (starts 4 April) looks very different from the original Games held in Canada almost 90 years ago.
