Ella Tang, a 12-yo-girl from Cheltenham Girls High School, did the 40 Hour Famine Backpack Challenge to stand with young refugees around the world. She lived out of a backpack for 40 hours with nothing but the essentials – food, water and warmth – to lead global change by raising funds for young people who’ve been forced to flee their homes. During the challenge, Ella needed to go to a piano competition that was set up half a year ago. How did she perform without eating for more than 20 hours? Ella and her father Ming Tang shared the experience and theire feelings with SBS Mandarin.
