Alibaba gears up for world's biggest shopping day (SBS)

China Placed new taxes on foreign goods bought via E-Commerce last weekend. It raised big concerns on Australian Chinese community.According to Caixin Online, "from April 8, buyers of all imported goods purchased online must pay most of a 17 percent value-added tax and a consumption tax, if applicable, according to a policy released on March 24 by the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs and the State Administration of Taxation".Given that a large group of local Chinese people involved in E-Commerce with China, they started worrying about it. However, ABC reported that Australian exporters should not be concerned about the Chinese government's reform of taxation for online shopping.Dong Xing and Xin Xie have the details.
