澳洲举报人现状:您还敢为不公发声吗?

举报人在诸多改革案例中都起到了举足轻重的作用,比如说近期银行皇家委员会的调查就得到了联邦银行举报人Jeff Morris的大力协助。


近期,澳洲各大媒体联手组织了“Your Right To Know”“你有权知道”运动,呼吁保护新闻自由。在媒体联盟提出的6项改革要求中,提到了加强对澳洲举报人的保护。但是,总理莫里森(Scott Morrison)在回应“你有权知道”运动时表示:“无人可以在法律之上”

获沃克利奖(Walkley-award)的新闻记者弗格森(Adele Ferguson)曾经和揭发不当和不法行为的举报人合作,但她说,与美国相比,澳洲的举报人受到的保护比较少。

澳洲举报人机构(Whistleblowers Australia)的主席表示,包括Jeff Morris先生在内的很多举报人都面临难以再就业的问题,如今现有的法律也没有给与举报人足够的支持。
