Protests have been raging in Hong Kong against the controversial extradition law, which sparked the concerns that the so-called "democrats" identified by the Chinese government would be sent to mainland China for trial, once approved.
Protests in Hong Kong has been echoed globally and was mirrored in Melbourne and Sydney last Sunday (June 9) where the supporters said the new changes would also violate the human rights of Hong Kong people living in Australia.
The mouthpiece media for the Chinese government Global Times claimed the pro-Hong Kong protests in Australia nothing more than staged "show" and suggested they were deliberately funded by those who are "ready to foot the bill".
The speaker for the local protest Ms Jane Poon responded to the claim requesting the Chinese government provide substantial evidence to prove themselves. She was disappointed with the Hong Kong government by their approach to deal with this chaos and condemned the oppressive conduct from the Hong Kong police when intervening with the protestors.
