Budget 2017: Government measures for housing may work banker says

Affordable housing could be one of the most eye-catching issues for the 2017 Budget. In his interview with The Australian Financial Review, Treasurer Scott Morrison tried to play down expectations of federal government intervention to improve housing affordability, but he also advised that establishing the Affordable Housing Finance Corporation and releasing more land could be the solutions for this issue. Westpac wealth adviser Mr Jeffrey Liu believes that these measures may work but not significantly. Dong Xing reports.
