China’s open for business and here to help other countries grow – those were just some of the key messages of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s opening speech at China’s International Import Expo on 5 November.


Chinese economist Dr. Cheng Xiaonong said, imports depend on import capacity, and the capacity to import depends on how much foreign exchange you have. The trade war between China and the United States would affect the amount of foreign exchange that China can get directly from exports.

Dr. Cheng believed that rather than paying more attention on the rising inflation, China is concerning more on how to control the economic contraction.
