Sydney’s official Lunar New Year festival is the largest Lunar New Year celebrations outside China with events across arts, culture, food and performance. And it is the first year the official ceremony is renamed by “Lunar New Year” instead of “Chinese New Year” which has been passed down for generations.

NSW Minister for Multiculturalism Ray Williams MP said LNY was a shared celebration for many Asian communities represented in Sydney, including Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Korean. It is a great opportunity to celebrate the diversity and multiculturalism in Australian as well as the contributions of Australian Asians.
