As China's leaders talk at the National People's Congress in Beijing, one issue needing to be addressed is the millions of children across the country suffering, or vulnerable to, abuse. NGOs, or non-government organisations, working in the field say many are suffering at the hands of their own parents. The NGOs are hoping the annual Communist Party meeting results in wider-reaching initiatives to protect children -- especially those in rural areas.
