Despite federal government forecasts of a shortfall in nurses over the next decade, Australia has dramatically reduced its use of temporary skilled visa workers in the sector. But as Marija Jovanovic and Zhou Li report, the Nursing and Midwifery Federation says while there are enough local graduates to fill the void, they need help entering the workforce.
