Downer downplays Twitter blast from former Trump aide

A former aide to United States president Donald Trump has attacked Australian diplomat Alexander Downer on social media. George Papadopoulos ((pap-uh-DOP-o-luss) has accused Mr Downer of working as a spy when the two met in May 2016. It was that meeting where, Mr Downer says, Mr Papadopoulos revealed Russia's connection to the Trump election campaign, leading to the ongoing investigation by US authorities.
