Dr Roc Shi: Review of Australia's electricity market not addressing the key problem

The Federal Government has ordered the national consumer organisation to look into retail electricity prices --amid an increase in power costs. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) will be given the power to demand information from electricity providers, to gain a detailed picture of the market and whether it's in need of further intervention. The investigation comes as the Hazelwood power station begins its final shutdown. However, Dr Roc Shi from the Australia-China Relations Institute, University of Technology Sydney thinks the inquiry is not addressing the root of the problems.
