Fallout continues over Dastyari donations debacle

The Federal Opposition says the political future of embattled Labor senator Sam Dastyari has not ended. The New South Wales senator resigned from his frontbench position last night (wed) after a week of sustained pressure for taking donations from Chinese-linked companies. But the Government is refusing to drop the issue, saying Labor has been tainted. And there will be a renewed push from an independent politician to ban foreign political donations.
