Iceland has made a big splash at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, which just ended last month, and many people therefore want to explore this small country with only over 300,000 people.

Last year, Shan Lu, a travel enthusiast who traveled alone from Melbourne to Iceland, said that the spirit of Icelandic people's lifelong learning made her understand why Iceland can compete with Argentina in this year's World Cup. Shan Lu shares anecdotes on her way to Iceland, and the characteristics of the Icelanders in her eyes. She also recommended some interesting places to go.

Icelandic anecdotes:

  • There is only one police station in the country
  • Icelandic horses can be raised as pets
  • Icelandic horse can only be exported, and once exported it will not be sent back to Iceland
  • When attending a party, whoever touches the phone first, who pays the bill
Some interesting places to go?

  • Black sand beach
  • Blue Lagoon
  • Diamond beach
  • Blue ice cave
Icelandic cuisine:

  • Lamb hot dog
  • Hakarl (fermented shark)
  • Skyr (Icelandic yogurt)
