A report found that half of Australians admit that their diet attempts fail, and two thirds will regain weight within a year. Allan Sheffield, Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Australian genetic interpretation company myDNA, told SBS Mandarin knowing your gene better is a good way for healthy diet and exercise.

Research carried out by Australian genetic interpretation company myDNA found that almost half (47%) of diet attempts fail. Whilst, two thirds(63%) gain weight when returning to normal eating behaviours and 1 in 3 (38%) Australians are in an unhealthy cycle of yo-yo dieting.

Understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for weight loss, myDNA provides personalised Diet and Fitness Reports, with insight into our body’s response to different diet types, muscle power, energy and strength, and fat burning ability. The report educates us to make smarter grocery and exercise choices, ending diet culture permanently.
