United States president Donald Trump has confirmed three US citizens detained by North Korea have been released and are on their way to Washington with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. ((due around 6pm AEST)) It comes ahead of the US president's historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders says in a statement President Trump views the releases as a "positive gesture of goodwill." Natarsha Kallios reports.
