The new federal parliament has got off to a fiery start. The Government was preparing to settle down to business as usual on the first sitting day, but the fragile nature of the 45th parliament has quickly come to the fore. The Labor Party has tried to hijack the Government's political agenda before the Prime Minister could even get to his feet in the House of Representatives.
