United Nations overwhelmingly passes refugee pact

The United Nations General Assembly has voted overwhelmingly in favour of a non-binding agreement to provide more support to refugees. The Global Compact on Refugees aims to provide assistance to people who flee their home countries because of conflict or persecution. The United States and Hungary voted against the agreement, while three other countries abstained.
