US confirms it will seek extradition of Huawei executive

United States officials have confirmed their plans to pursue the extradition from Canada of Meng Wanzhou , chief financial officer of Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei. Ms Meng was arrested in Vancouver on December 1st at the request of the US government, which accuses her of misrepresenting the company’s links to a firm that tried to sell equipment to Iran in violation of US sanctions.
