WA's failure to boost international tourism spending in the past year has been partly attributed to a lack of promotional leadership and few direct flights from big markets such as Japan and China. However, Xiaoxiao Guo, who has been working in the tourism industry in WA for 4 year, said even the number of international visitors is decreasing but more and more Chinese visitors came to WA.

In an interview, Xiaoxiao said that she did feel the decline in the tourism industry in Western Australia, but the number of tourists from China has been growing. She also analysed the reasons for the failing tourism in Western Australia. She said that the geographically dispersed tourist attractions, lack of famous attractions, and lack of promotions have all contributed to the negative growth in the number of tourists in Western Australia.

She recommended Kings Park, a famous tourist attraction in the city of Perth, to the visitor.
