'What Australia Has Given Me is Beyond Music', said Australian Cellist Li-Wei Qin

Li-wei Qin, who migrated to Australian at 13 years old, went to university to study commerce despite all the prizes he had as a cellist.


Li-wei Qin, former recipient of Young Australian of the Year Award, didn't go to music institute as a student when he was a teenager in Australia. He went to The University Of Melbourne to study commerce despite all the prizes he had as a cellist. 

He found out what he has learned in Australia as a teenager is beyond what music can give to him. It helps his survive in a '60 years long marathon', the music career he refers to, where he didn't burn out as a child.
