The 2016 Census reveals 31% of people had paid off their mortgage, progressively going down since 1991. However, the number of this group has grown in the past 25 years despite rising house prices. What housing life does the Census tell us? Associate Professor Yan Tan, population expert from the University of Adelaide has more.
