Leadership challenge finally settled down on Friday with former Treasury Secretary Scott Morrison taking the top job after trouncing Peter Dutton and Julie Bishop in a three-way race for the Liberal leadership.


Will Mr Dutton comfortably support Scott Morrison after losing the leadership contest? After Morrison took the office, what will happen to Australia’s domestic and foreign policy? Is Morrison’s victory a victory for the Labour Party? Will the federal election be called soon? Associate Professor Jie Chen, who is engaged in political and international relations research at the University of Western Australia, gives his own analysis on the above issues.
