Why has the spirit of Tiananmen protests been lost in generations?

Chin Jin, President of Federation for a Democratic China said the younger generation in school have been manipulated and brainwashed by the communist party; most of them even didn’t know the Tiananmen Massacre had ever happened. And the Chinese students going overseas are either the officiallings or the second generation of a wealthy family. Their families are always associated with the government, so they don’t care about the massacre and wouldn’t live in the same dream that my generation has been fighting for.
