Bridging Hope Charity Foundation and Lifeline Australia have launched the results of a study commissioned to examine the support needs of Chinese Australians. The ground-breaking report aims to raise awareness of the need for services within the Chinese Australian community that address issues of mental health and wellbeing.


Psychological Consultant Melody Qu from Bridging Hope Charity Foundation and Bill Yan from Counterpoint Multicultural Services joined Mandarin Producer Alan Qu to share their expertise and own experience in overcoming a hard life.

Melody Qu Melody had been working at Beijing New Century International Children’s Hospital. She is currently a doctorate candidate at the Department of Psychology, Macquarie University, and is currently researching family factors influencing children and adolescents’ emotional health. Melody is an Advisor to Bridging Hope Charity Foundation in both Sydney and Beijing.

Bill Yan is the Operations Manager for Counterpoint Community Services which include a Multicultural centre. He has mental health lived-in experience.  He also holds a Bachelor Degree in Psychological Science and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling.”
