After more than twenty years abroad and an acclaimed international career Australian conductor Daniel Smith is finally making his long awaited debut in Sydney, his hometown.
Daniel Smith moved to Italy in the '90s to pursue his successful conducting career under the guidance of maestro Gianluigi Gelmetti. He is currently the Principal Guest Director of the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and his future promises better and more exciting challanges.
Danile Smith is currently in Sydney to make his debut at the Opera House conducting Gioachino Rossini's Il Viaggio a Reims directed by Damiano Michieletto with an impressive local and international cast, including Italian baritone Giorgio Caoduro who has excited audiences in Melbourne when Il Viaggio was first performed in Australia last May and promises to do it all over again in Sydney.
