Eve White interweaves Aboriginal wisdom and traditions with the ancient practice of Yoga allowing her students to connect to country, heal and reconnect. She says the connection is very important, especially in the current circumstances.
A proud Wiradjuri woman, Eve White is a Yoga instructor, professional dancer and Indigenous cultural educator.
In a yarn with NITV Radio Eve White said that after studying Yoga -chi-gong- she finds a lot of similarities in these ancient traditions that originated thousands of kilometres apart.
“We are all connected to ourselves, to the Earth and to all of the living things,” Eve White said.
We keep it alive through our stories, our ceremonies, through our practice
Eve White also revealed how she shares and connects with other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Yoga teachers.
Ms White conducts Yarning circles online and, in collaboration with other teachers and in line with Yoga Australia, she is also creating a Reciprocity Action Plan (RAP) for Indigenous Yoga instructors.
Eve also shared her personal rituals and how she realised that we live in a very rectangular world – from computer screens to our Yoga mats.
