SBS Yiddish report with Alex Dafner:The Sydney Jewish and Holocaust Museum will receive $6.25m from NSW Gov.


Jewish residents in Bondi, in Sydney were infected and exposed to the very infectious Delta version of the Covid-19 virus, but the Moriah College, one of the biggest Jewish schools in Australia, managed to stay open despite family members of a pupil being infected, thanks to their quick isolation.

The Sydney Jewish and Holocaust Museum will receive a grant of $6.25m from the Government of NSW, to build an education centre and expand its temporary exhibitions and archives space, as well as creating a project via which six Holocaust survivors will provide a virtual interactive experience to educate future generations and provide dedicated space for virtual outreach programs.

The ABC’s managing director David Anderson met with representatives of the ECAJ and reportedly apologised for factual errors and biased presentation, re the recent Israeli – Hamas conflict, on the broadcaster’s news, popular Q&A program, etc, and promised to take steps to prevent such errors and biases to occur in the future.

The Liberal Party’s Federal Council passed a motion against the Australian governing Liberal Party ever recognising a unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state, and to continue to support peace initiatives between Israel and the Palestinian leadership through the path of negotiations and diplomacy.
