New Zealand is in the midst of one of the biggest Maori land disputes in decades.
A 480-house development is planned for a 32-hectare area in southern Auckland, a city currently experiencing a housing crisis.
But protesters have descended on the land, believed to be of New Zealand's earliest settlements, arguing the area should be protected.
