Amid the death and devastation of the Nepal-Tibet floods, racism is emerging on social media platforms.
The flooding has caused the death of thousands, with many more missing, including 36 Australians at the time of publication.
Photos posted by news outlets online have seen their comment sections inundated with racist comments.
SBS Nepali Senior Producer Dinita Rishal told SBS Examines: "I think it's really troubling that even at such a difficult time, the colour of your skin, the design of your clothes, the jewellery you wear ... it still creates this rift and fear-mongering."
In this episode of SBS Examines, we ask why racist comments are proliferating in the wake of a devastating natural disaster.
