Australia has committed 64M Australian dollars, equivalent to 2.4B pesos to support peace-building initiatives in the BARMM or Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

  • The promised support will be delivered in a period of five years.
  • Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Marc Innes-Brown says part of the assistance is to ensure the smooth implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement of the Bangsamoro, signed by the Government of the Republic of The Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. The cornerstone of ensuring peace in the region.
  • Stability in the region will secure better socio-economic conditions in the BARMM.
