Alegado's “Rethinking Alternatives to Development in the Global South: Zero Waste Communities as a case of Degrowth” focused on two communities in the south, Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental province and Siquijor province. In his interactions with the communities, he found out that many are opposed to single-use plastics.
