In other news, the hard work and sacrifices of public and private school teachers were recognised yesterday, 3 October in commemoration of National Teacher's Day.

Teachers were given improved benefits such as additional leave credits and medical allowance. Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act was enacted into law, increasing teachers' annual allowance to 10,000Php from 5,000Php.
