There was a low turnout during the first few days of filing for Certificate Of Candidacy for the coming May 2025 national and local elections.

• Vilma Santos-Recto has filed her Certificate of Candidacy for Governor while Luis Manzano will run for Vice Governor and Ryan Recto as a Representative for 6th District of Batangas.

In other news, the hard work and sacrifices of public and private school teachers were recognised yesterday, 3 October in commemoration of National Teacher's Day.

Teachers were given improved benefits such as additional leave credits and medical allowance. Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act was enacted into law, increasing teachers' annual allowance to 10,000Php from 5,000Php.
