Australia was one of the countries included in a study conducted by the Pew Research Centre regarding "national pride."

Key Points
  • The Pew Research Center released findings on the primary reasons for pride among Australians, based on interviews with 1,500 people in Australia and over 30,000 worldwide.
  • Some of the primary sources of national pride include mateship (valuing one's peers), a stable democracy, and openness to migrants, among others.
  • Despite these positive views, Australia is among the countries with the lowest scores when it comes to pride in their arts and culture, religious recognition, the military, and even sports.
