Obsessed in his search for the secret life of the Philippines' James Bond in the 80's, Australian filmmaker Andrew Leavold spent almost 20 years of his life going to and from the country to document the life of 2-foot-9 inches action star and martial artist Weng-Weng. Premiered in Manila in 2013 and screened at the Melbourne Film Festival in 2014, the documentary film 'The search for Weng-Weng' is now a book.

 

In the 242-pages book "The Search for Weng-Weng, Leavold detailed his search for the unknown life of the midget actor Weng-Weng or Ernesto Dela Cruz in real life who died very poor.
