Ayon sa Filipino-Australians na sina Violi Calvert at Lee Meekan, trabaho ang kanilang pakay ngunit higit pa ang kanilang natagpuan sa Australia.

  • Si Violi Calvert ay isang retired public servant, journalist, at broadcaster. Dumating siya sa Australia noong 1974 sa edad na 25, matapos makakuha ng sponsorship dahil sa kanyang natapos na kurso sa Pilipinas bilang guro, kung saan nagtapos siya bilang Cum Laude. Nagpatuloy din siya sa pag-aaral sa University of Technology Sydney, Flinders University, at University of Western Sydney. Aktibo rin siya sa komunidad ng mga Pilipino sa Australia.
  • Si Lee Meekan ay isang banker at biyuda sa Pilipinas. Dumating siya sa Australia noong 1986 matapos makakuha ng working visa upang masuportahan ang kanyang dalawang anak. Nagpatuloy din siya sa pag-aaral sa larangan ng migration, property valuation, at real estate brokerage sa Australia.
  • Ayon sa 2021 Census ng Australian Bureau of Statistics, tinatayang 408,842 katao sa Australia ang may lahing Pilipino.

Kahit retirado na sa kanilang propesyon, patuloy sina Violi Calvert at Lee Meekan sa paglilingkod bilang volunteers sa Filipino community sa Sydney. Gusto nilang mag-enjoy, maging inspirasyon, at ipakita ang ganda ng kulturang Filipino sa bansang nagbigay sa kanila ng maraming oportunidad.

My greatest achievement is coming to Australia and helping my family now, all 75 of us are here. We never forget our roots, always help those in need, and I am grateful to Australia for giving us this opportunity.
