The 22-year-old man and 21-year-old woman arrived at Melbourne International Airport on Wednesday, 19 July on a flight from Germany. According to police, their luggage was randomly selected for examination.

Australian Border Force (ABF) officers detected a suspicious powder concealed within the luggage. It is alleged initial testing returned a positive result for cocaine, with further forensic testing set to confirm this.

The news follows another arrest back in April, at Sydney International Airport. On that occasion, a German couple (aged 49 and 37) from Dormagen was arrested when ABF officers detected 10 kilograms of cocaine in the couple's luggage.
