We all know koala numbers have dropped dramatically, not least because of the bad 2019/20 bushfires. Another threat to koalas is chlamydia infection. It can make the animals infertile and even kill them. Researchers are now testing a vaccination against the disease for the first time. The aim is to protect the prey in the long term. Barbara Barkhausen talks to Trudi Latour about the topic.
