The National Anti-Corruption Commission should strengthen trust in federal politics. But following the resignation of its first commissioner Paul Brereton, the authority itself is under criticism. Allegations of conflicts of interest, delays in investigations and calls for greater transparency have sparked a debate about the future of the NACC. The federal government is talking about an opportunity for a new start and is not ruling out reforms.
