Australia's free trade talks with the European Union broke down on the sidelines of the G7 trade ministers' meeting in Osaka, Japan. Among the main points of contention is the use of geographical indicators, which would make it impossible for Australian producers to use terms such as feta and prosecco. With a new agreement unlikely to be negotiated any time soon, Australian farmers are prepared to wait for a more favourable deal.
