Austria has had links with Australia since the beginning of European settlement. Most Austrian migration to Australia took place after the end of World War II. The arrival of so many settlers formed the basis for strong mutual economic ties between the two countries. The first Austria Connect - Australia/New Zealand conference in Sydney aims to strengthen and deepen the economic relations.
