Most of us in Australia or Germany have never experienced any real hardship. Probably the older generations, who, like Iris Brandewiedes grandma, always kept everything because there was a lot of stuff missing in the war or immediately afterwards. But in the past few months we younger ones have experienced the unavailablility for some items, because during the Corona crisis certain everyday objects or groceries were suddenly no longer available. Those who have always been unable to throw anything away benefited from the old-fashioned keep everything attitude during the Corona crisis.
