While the soccer World Cup draws attention to the major nations and stars of sport, soccer is also continuing to develop in the Pacific. The new OFC Professional League is intended to create a professional competition structure for the region for the first time. One person who is accompanying this change at close range is German trainer Lars Hopp. Born in Kiel, he has been mentoring the Vanuatu national team since 2025 and is also involved in building professional structures in the island state.
